KCS Korean Community Services Launches First Summer Program in Westchester

Westchester, NY – July 1, 2026 – KCS announced today the launch of its first summer session for the Korean American community in Westchester County.

The opening celebration drew approximately 40 program participants and community members, along with KCS leadership, including Board Chair SK Chung. The event was also attended by several distinguished elected officials, including New York State Senator Peter Harckham and his wife and Westchester County Legislator David Imamura.

Assemblywoman Amy Paulin and Board Member Joon Lee, all of whom came to show their support. Community leaders Kevin Cho, Director of Policy at the Asian American Federation (AAF), also joined in the celebration.

This summer's program offerings include smartphone and AI education, calligraphy, keyboard lessons, and health education classes.

For years, Korean residents of Westchester had to travel to New York City to access essential community services. With this expansion, local residents can now receive the support and education they need closer to home. Participants attending the inaugural session expressed enthusiasm and gratitude for the program's launch.
