Sponsored by the Asian American Federation (AAF), KCS is hosting its 2nd Annual Korean Art Competition, open to 1st to 12th-grade students across New York State. This competition seeks to provide a unique opportunity for Korean students to express their artistic talents.
The competition is open only to students of Korean descent in grades 1 through 12 who reside in New York State.
This year’s theme is "A Cherished Memory." Your artwork should reflect this theme by capturing its meaning creatively and thoughtfully.
No, there is no fee to enter the competition.
We only accept 2D artwork, which includes traditional and digital artwork. 3D artwork, such as sculptures, will not be accepted. All submissions must meet size and format requirements.
Each participant is allowed to submit only one (1) artwork for the competition. Multiple submissions will not be accepted.
The online application must be completed by Sunday, October 18, at 11:59 PM EST. Physical artwork submissions must be received either in person or via mail by Friday, October 23rd, 5:00 PM EST. Late entries will not be accepted.
After you have submitted your online application, all physical artwork must be submitted in person or by mail to the KCS HQ office in Bayside at 203-05 32nd Ave, Bayside, NY 11361. Office hours are from Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Please note that submissions will not be accepted on weekends.
Awardees will be announced on Saturday, November 21st, 2026, during the Art Showcase & Ceremony. Doors will open at 11:00 AM, and the ceremony will begin at 12:00 AM. Please note that the date and time are subject to change.
One (1) overall grand prize awardee chosen from all of the gradesThree (3) category awardees: elementary school, middle school, and high schoolThree (3) honorable mentions: regardless of grade level
The KCS Korean Art Showcase & Ceremony will be held at the KCS HQ office in Bayside, located at 203-05 32nd Ave, Bayside, NY 11361.
While attendance is not mandatory, we strongly encourage all participants and their families to attend. This is a celebration of creativity, culture, and community, recognizing the artistic talents of Korean youth. Winners will be announced during the event, and snacks and refreshments will be provided.
The ceremony is expected to conclude at approximately 12:00 PM. Please note that the end time is subject to change.
If you are unable to attend the ceremony, we will contact you afterward with details on how to receive your award.
Yes, you may collect your artwork once the competition has ended. If you are chosen as an awardee, your artwork may be displayed at KCS for approximately a month. If not an awardee, you may collect your artwork after the showcase.
