Introduction |

The Korean Community Services (KCS) Public Health Program, collaborating
with the New York City Coalition for a Smoke Free City, is launching
its Fourth Annual Smoke-Free Home Campaign targeting the Korean American
communities of metropolitan New York. The campaign focuses on educating
Korean Americans about the health effects of second hand smoke, as
well as facts about second hand smoke in the home. We will also offer
tips on how to keep your home smoke-free, as well as how to limit
exposure to second hand smoke, and the benefits of a smoke-free home.

KCS will be conducting outreach workshops at local community organizations.

We will also publish articles in collaboration with the Korea Times

Art & Writing Contest |

KCS will hold their 4th annual Smoke-Free Home Art & Writing
Contest to motivate Korean American youth to produce works about the
benefits of living in a smoke-free home. Please check our website

The Coalition for a Smoke-Free City, which is affiliated with the
New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene Bureau of Tobacco
Control, has generously awarded KCS a grant to campaign for smoke-free
homes in the Korean American communities of greater metropolitan New
York for the second year in a row. |
