One of the branches of The Korean Community Services of Metropolitan New York (KCS) is the Division of Women's Health, which is located at the Public Health and Research Center. This division specializes in services for the Korean American women immigrant community as they face several complex problems when adapting to new cultural, economic, and social environments.
Currently, the Division of Women's Health is working on two major projects: the "New Beginning for Healthy Women" project, which focuses on breast health and care, and the Oral Contraceptives and Acculturation project, which is studying how the Korean culture plays a role in the usage of and attitude towards oral contraceptives. Through both of these projects, the Division of Women's Health has been able to provide the necessary educational tools and support, specially catered to the needs of our clients. |
