It is crucial for immigrants that not only having health insurance but also knowing the importance of immunization.  Many Korean Americans living in New York City are not aware of the significance to get vaccinated in timely fashion. Under the contract with the National Asian Women's Health Organization (NAWHO), KCS has provided 8 culturally linguistic appropriate workshops, distributing 6,000 educational materials as well to improve the awareness. In addition, KCS has participated various health fairs throughout the fiscal year. Also KCS has held 17 influenza vaccination events with Visiting Nurse Services of New York (VNSNY).

After Immunization Project I completed, KCS has focused underserved, uninsured, and vulnerable Korean population in the areas of New Jersey to increase the rates of immunized Korean Americans. KCS has developed new resources in the new area, explored community, and provided Hepatitis B Blood screenings for 177 and administered the 3 shots of vaccination to 55 people.  KCS will continue to educate Korean Americans about the importance of immunization and to provide essential health care services.
