This program provides facilitated enrollment processing of NYS Health Insurance to NYC residents who are eligible for NYS health insurance programs such as Medicaid, Family Health Plus and Child Health Plus. Through the contract, KCS offers eligibility screening, counseling, troubleshooting, and follow-up. After KCS screened community members, KCS submits eligible applications and enrolls qualified families in each proper program.

Consequently, instead of visiting a local Medicaid office where families feel frustration with language and enrollment process, people in the Korean community would have easy access to NYS health insurance program and get benefits when using the services provided by this program. KCS has submitted about 60 applicants per month and more than 80 people have got enrolled through this program every month. Also KCS has handled on average 500 phone calls on a monthly basis including walk-in counseling.
