Now most Medicaid consumers are required to join a health plan. However, choosing one health plan out of 19 plans can be a confusing process and having a good understanding of Medicaid Managed Care is essential to make the right choices for themselves. As a part of NYS and NYC’s New York Medicaid CHOICE, KCS has been collaborating with Community Service Society to help Korean Medicaid consumers to select the best plan to meet their needs. KCS Medicaid CHOICE provides outreach, education and case management services for Medicaid Managed Care.

KCS has conducted as many as 91 workshops (Average 7.5 workshops per month) in Flushing, Corona, Bronx and Brooklyn area in the FY 2005. The number of participants who were served in the educational workshops was total 836 people (average 70 people per month).
