YCAP is a branch of the KCS volunteer program that focuses on youthful Asian Americans. YCAP aims to provide Asian American youths with a wide variety of opportunities to learn and develop through interactive and exciting volunteer activities.
The program has been running for 5 years and continues to grow. It allows volunteers to take part in their fields of interest while also
serving the community. Our volunteers not only aid the community, but receive fulfillment from what they do by applying their interests in their jobs. This year, 43 young Korean American students participated, and fulfilled 8,961 hours in total. Also, 69 students recieved the President's Volunteer Service Awards, which is an award to students who finish 100 volunteering hours within a 12 month period.
The future lies in the hand of our youths. Let us open up all the opportunities available to them. |
