KCS’ experiences with immigration services in Brooklyn started in 1999, in its project office, supported with free space by the South Beach Psychiatric Center, in the Bay Ridge neighborhood which has been providing immigration/refugee assistance, ESOL/ Citizenship education and application assistance, and other immigration services. With these activities KCS Brooklyn Project has built strong relationship with other community organizations and was able to extend its services to Asian American immigrant population in this area. In FY 2005, over 1,000 clients have been served through the advocacy and ESOL services.
